I’m so intrigued by straight couples

“I’m So Intrigued By Straight Couples (Or Is It Just Me Returning the Gaze)” explores casual encounters with heterosexual couples expressing affection in public spaces. While the normalisation of cuddling among couples is not the central focus here, the work calls attention to the differences in the affective performance of heterosexual, homo and non-binary couples in public settings. Ultimately, this series invites viewers to imagine counter-hegemonic perspectives on the role of normative displays of affection based on the public gaze they generate.
